I have finally decided to claim back my good-mood Mondays, not quit up to speed with my goals, but the first step is always the hardest.
I have a big deficit that has been growing each and every passing week, right now its a total of 1,447, my total read has not suffer such a hard blow because of my strong weeks, but that breathing room is narrowing in a dramatic fashion. This week’s total was 1,065, I was hoping to be closer to 2,000 to remove some of the pressure, but this week started with a very intimidating 2,693 pages to read in order to get back on track, and red and menacing.
The one things that is working like clockwork is my 52 book in 52 weeks, just finishing number 12, Ernest Cline’s Ready Player, and I am currently on page 239 of 457 of book number 13, Ready Player Two. I’ll probably finish by midweek and to close out a trifecta of Mr. Cline’s books, I’ll read my recently acquired Armada.
Now let’s talk about what we are here for, MY NUMBERS, the current total is 14,658 of the 64,952 pages of this year’s goal, with just 342 pages away from the next milestone, 15,000 pages, I have great expectation that the next entry celebration will be the theme .
The end of the year projection of total pages went down a little bit , it’s now 63,116 pages, which isn’t that bad, judging by the way things unfolded, I’ll put this outcome on the winning column . My reading schedule, much to my surprise, is only 2 days behind .
Now for the first 500,000 pages, I have only 134,768 pages left, and the new date of reaching that goal is June 3, 2026, 19 days sooner than the last projection, still my sights are pointed at March 20, 2023 as the desired date to reach the first half of the challenge, that gap narrowed from 1,191 to 1,172 days behind schedule.
The best indicator of this steady, almost hum drum pace on my progress is the numbers of the broader picture, the thing that keeps me up at night reading, so I said to myself, well this fortunately since the beginning of the year has only move forward .The second part of the journey, or the other 500,000 pages, the weekly average needed is now 1,913 with a daily average of 273 pages.
Now for the golden prize of 1,000,000 pages, to my delight, the projections puts it 8,184 days away, a 61 day gain from the last projection, making the end date is January 26, 2044, that’s 4,618 days after the original plan, 40 days less that the last projection, my biggest hope, of at least 1 month of time gained each projection, is showing up each and every, and for that I’ll celebrate.
To summary the numbers from my Journey Back.
- Pages to reach 500,000: 134,768 pages
- Days to reach 1,000,000: 8,184 days
- Days behind schedule: 4,618 days
Now to take those 2,693 pages head on, and get this ship back in line.
Off to read.
