Just missed my mark for another Magic Monday, so welcome to my not-so Magic Tuesday or whatever. It was quite the week, some real progress was made.
My challenge of 52 books in 52 weeks challenge is way ahead of schedule, starting week number 36, I’m working on book number 44, Asesino Real, book two of the Farseer trilogy by legendary author Robin Hobb. The one short story a day challenge is enjoying a 45-day streak. I´m already on the fourth story of the collection Criaturas Fantásticas ,penned by the amazingly talented Nnedi Okorafor, if you haven’t read her Binti stories, go and buy them ASAP, I’ll wait.
Now let’s talk about MY NUMBERS, the current total is 42,282 of the 64,952 pages of this year’s goal, that’s a whopping 2,200 registered pages more than last update.Still focusing on the next step, 50,000 pages. The next 20 days are crucial to get back on track, and with 7,718 to reach the next milestone, my race against the clock just got more interesting.
The end of the year projection of total pages had a bit of a surge ,currently, is at 59,520 pages, 494 pages more than the last update. My reading schedule is now 22 days behind, this is a 2 day gain from my last update. I keep on sticking to my mantra, one step at a time, one page at a time.
I start week 36 with a deficit of 4,622 pages, and a total 5,868 pages to get back to balance, this week came short by 411 pages. The total for the month of February, which is 4,984 pages, is now 3,856 pages, representing almost a 77% in three weeks, I needed to close out this final week strongly.
For the first 500,000 pages, I have only 107,141 pages left, and the new date of reaching that goal is October 16, 2025, that’s 13 days earlier than the last projection, my sights are still pointed at March 20, 2023 as the desired date to reach the first half of the challenge, that gap narrowed from 945 to 942 days behind schedule.
The second part of the journey, or the other 500,000 pages, my weekly pages needed are now 1,699 with a daily average of 243 pages, a 1 page a day drop from the last projection.
Now for the golden prize of 1,000,000 pages, to my delight, the projections puts it 7,548 days away, a 35 day gain from the last projection, making the end date is October 23, 2042, that’s 4,158 days after the original plan, 27 days less that the last projection. This week reignites the streak of a month of time gained with each week, hopefully, I can keep it up for the foreseeable future.Still, my eye is fixed on the coveted end date of 2031.
To summary the numbers from my Journey Back.
- Pages to reach 500,000: 107,141 pages
- Days to reach 1,000,000: 7,548 days
- Days behind schedule: 4,158 days
Now back to work on the 50,000-page milestone, and hitting my very neglected daily, weekly, and monthly goals.
Off to read.
