Slow start of (Y-13)

These has been a really slow start to my year of reading.

I have only logged 112 pages to my registered pages, finished reading The Age of Conan: Valeria, and just read about 250 of net pages.

This is mainly because I was finish with the final draft of my masters thesis. But now I am free to get back on the saddle.

To start off , I’ll read a mini series of the Justice League written by James Tynion IV, Alpha Predator, and to top off , finish The Rise of the King.

Tomorrow I’ll start my traditional read of Frankenstein, a staple of spooktober.

Also, my more than a week-long Halloween celebration starts on October 26 , and ends with the Mexican celebration of Day of the Dead, on November 2.

For now, I am off to chase ghosts and ghouls.

Azriel’s Infinite Bookshelf: Justice League: Justice/Doom War

When I picked up this book, just by seeing who the main authors were, Scott Snyder and James Tynion IV, I was more than excited.

And surely, they did not disappoint.

The Justice League faces once again the incredible power of Perpetua, who has managed to destroy the wall of the prison that contain her, and with her new acquired pet Lex Luthor, she threatens to colapse the multiverse.

This is why all of the heroes from the various eras, and Earths, come to face her in an spectacular battle for existence.

Only two seasoned writers can handle the sheer amount of characters presented in these pages, and for us, the fans of DC comics, it is a visual feast, I mean, even Kamandi makes a substantial appearance.

I can wait for the continuation of the story, that, according to the final panel, it will continue in Dark Nights: Death Metal.

Now ,off I go, to look for my next adventure.

Numbers: 11 days

I had a good day of reading, my total was 112 of the 272 pages that was my goal for yesterday.

I read Hit-Girl in Hollywood, and a few pages of Rise of the King.

I still have 3,152 pages to go, my goal for today is 287 pages.

Today’s reading will be focus on my adventure with Drizzt Do’Urden, and a new volume of the Justice League, Doom War.

For now, I am off to read.

Numbers: 13 days

Lucky day 13 in my countdown to the end of this year of reading.

Yesterday I read a total of 75 of the 253 pages that I had as a goal.

That leaves me with 3,471 to reach the final goal of the year.

For today, I plan to read some new single issues and a Batman graphic novel from my TBR pile.

Hopefully,I’ll hit my goal for today, 267 pages.

For now, I am off to read.

(Y-12) Quarantined Days, Update 13

A solid day of reading, my total was 157 pages, and I am 5,911 away from reaching 40,000 pages, this, with 43 days left to do it.

On the book front, I read 45 pages of the third volume of the Forgotten Realms series The Sundering, written by Erin M. Evans, which is a breath of fresh air to read a fantasy book with a female character as the lead, the menacing Farideh, a Tiefling warlock fighting demonic forces who are eager to take advantage of her powerful heritage.

I’ll try to finish it by the weekend, which I don’t doubt I can achieve.

On the graphic novel/comic books front, I started reading the fourth volume of Scott Snyder’s run on the Justice League, The Sixth Dimension, I must confess that I was reluctant to dive into this series, but as always Mr. Snyder delivers and taking on DC Comics Multiverse is no easy task.

Also, I have a few comic books of Red Sonja: Unchained series, two issues to be precise, and I plan to knock them out today.

For now, I am off to read.
