10,000 pages

As I was saying on my last post, there was only the matter of tallying my most recent reads, and second milestone of the year was surely would be surpass.

According to my projections, the 10,000-page day is August 2, of the current year, achieving this a couple of days before is a first in all of my fifteen years of the project.

My current total is 10,827 pages, and my projections still put me over 70,000 total pages at the end of the year.

Off to read.

First challenge of (Y-15)

Here come the impossible tasks that keep me on my feet, and pushing every forward to reach, firstly 500,000 pages, and eventually the coveted 1,000,000 pages.

So, to close-out the week long celebration of my birthday, I’m shooting for a 1,500 pages weekend, with the possibility of a 1,000-page day.

To start the binge reading, I’ll go back to the origins of Middle Earth with the tale of The Fall of Gondolin, the mythical elvish city.

Off to read.

Pure Bliss

I did it.

I finally crossed the final milestone of the year, 64,942 total pages.

Actually, my current total is 65,150 pages, and with some days left on my year of reading, which ends on Monday, with my 41st birthday.

There’s still a full fleshed update of how things are moving along, but for now, my mind is fixed on other challenges.

Now the challenge is how many more pages I can rack up until then.

For starters, there’s one more book left on the list, Children of Blood Bone by Tomi Adeyemi, just a few pages in, and I’m hooked.

In between, there’s a whole bunch of graphic novels that I’m eager to read. I’ll say that maybe another 1,500 are in order to close-out the year with a bang.

Off to read.

13 years ago I was sitting on our multifunctional table, which at the time function has everything from eating to plotting the future, it was there were this project first came to being.

Now, 4,745 days later I can account for many joyful things both big and small, so many little precious moments that have made this and incredible ride.

That journey is now approaching a new stage, and I am more than excited to see what it brings.

Right now, my total is 369,456 pages. All my efforts are focused on the 241 days left on the current year of reading. Hopefully, I’ll reach the goal of 64,492 pages for this year, my current total is 19,320 pages, and light the way for the next 9 years.

The golden prize of 1,000,000 pages is on the horizon, so buckle up, for it’s going to be one hell of a journey.

Off to read.

Back in time for Spooktober

After almost a month of digital detox, I’m back just in time to celebrate the most wonderful time of the year, Spooktober.

I have a lot of reading to make-up for, and what better way to reignite this reading engine than some spooky stories.

To keep with the science fiction theme of the year, I’ll start this month’s festivities with one of my favorite franchises, Aliens.

I have been saving this 6 volumes for over a year, this are compilations of some of Dark Horse comics classic stories, I love this kind of edition, because you get some nice variety of stories and amazing artwork.

I start this month with a great reading challenge ahead of me. The total so far for this year is 18,071 pages, around 2,000 pages under my projected total.

That gives me a total of 8,099 pages, this including the 5,000 pages of this month, in order to get back on track.

Although I do not expect to tackle this gargantuan task in one month, my intentions is to at least knock off 1,000 pages from what has accumulated from the pass two months, which have been underwhelming, to say the least.

Now to get to that next milestone for the year, and the bottle of wine that accompanies it.

Off to read.

Year 12

Although my year of reading ends on Sunday, I will take these few days to regroup, to plan out the future of the upcoming years, and most of all recharge for the tasks ahead.

I’ll do some light reading, but I highly doubt that I will sum-up any considerable amount of pages to make this my best year or the second best.

I am really content with my total of this year.

For now, I am off.

(Y-12) Quarantined days, Update 26

I have been away reading, mostly.

I still have a long way to go on my ultimate goal for this year, 50,000 pages.

I have 45 days left, and about 8,000 pages to go.

But as I said before, one page at a time.

For this weekend I am locked in with two goals.

First, to finish The Bonehunters

According to Bookly, I still have about 4 hours, this book is really complex, and has a vast amount of characters,, so my reason has been really slow, but I am sure this weekend will suffice to get it done.

This will put me over my minimal goal of reading for this year, which was 41,665 pages, a pretty successful year.

The other thing I plan to achieve is to reach my monthly goal of pages, once again using Bookly to track my reading.

That’s 775 pages to go, so I’ll mix in some comic books, and this goal will be surpassed easily.

So, with that in mind, I am off to read.

(Y-12) Quarantined Days, Update 20

Just realized that I haven’t posted how my numbers are in some time.

Well, I am glad to say that my reading is way ahead of schedule, 44 days to be precise.

My current projection is that I will finish the year with approximately 48,000 pages, which will mean that this year has the potential of becoming my best one yet.

Right now my total is 38,557 pages.

My two immediate goals are to reach 40,000 pages, just 1,443 pages to go, and reaching my goal for this year 41,665 pages, just 3,108 pages to go.

I still have 74 days left on this reading year, and the next one, year thirteen, will be a short one, I’ll explain when that time comes.

For now, I am off to read.

(Y-12) Quarantined Days, Update 1

Yesterday was great, this in part of my beautiful insomnia kicking in.

My total was 204 pages, which brings my total to read to 8,029 pages.

My reading consisted of a little of the next chapter of The Malazan Book of the Fallen, Midnight Tides, about 11 pages.

I finished the second volume of Jason Aaron’s  Vertigo comics series Scalped, Casino Boogie.

Also, and a really pleasant find on my Kindle Unlimited subscription, I read the first four issues of the Dark Horse comics series Aliens: Defiance, written by one of my favorites comic book writer, Brian Wood, which also has DMZ and Northlanders available to read for free with the subscription, and already on my TBR pile.

For now, I am off to read.
