Day 57 of the 200 day march.

It has been 15 days since the last entry and they have been mildly productive. At last, after two months, I have finish reading A Storm of Swords in my opinion the best book of the 3 books I have read of a song of fire and ice series. This mark then the beginning of 6 months of Star Wars reading. My plan is to read my all-ready vast Star Wars library and gear-up for the December 18 release of Episode VII. I’m going to begin this challenge with the first book of the series Jedi Academy written by the sci-fi giant Kevin J. Anderson. On a little side note, my challenge of reading 20,000 total pages for year seven before my 34th birthday is going to fail miserably, still I’m determined to finished the larger scope challenge of reading 50,000 + pages for this year. So to recap :

  • Total pages for the seventh year: 11,297 pages
  • Days left for the seventh year: 143 days
  • Pages left to read in my goal for the seventh year:  44,638 pages

Quite a challenge but I’ll have fun with it. This two weeks have also been hectic and really fun, I had the chance to revisited a place that I help design and construct and it’s also one of my favorite spots to go and unwind. To read for a while in total peace. Just with sound of the wind and the trees.

The project consist in a park with a artificial lake holding about 3 million liters of reclaim water. This water comes from the nearby treatment plant is now use to water around 600 plants and is house to various migratory birds. It was a really privilege to work on a project like this and to watch it blossom through the years has been more that rewarding.

The other thing that happen was that my little desert oasis received some much deserved love.  It’s now more that ready for the mild nights of my beautiful desert.

Day 42 of the 200 day march.

I reached some minor milestones in  this last few days. First of all I finished reading The Killing Kind by John Connolly, which is, incidentally, the first book I finish in six weeks. As usual it was really suspenseful and finish up with a bang. This book was the third installment of his famous detective character Charlie “Bird” Parker, so I have 9 more novels to go through is this amazing series.

Secondly, the first 10,000 pages of the seventh year of Lost in a Million Pages are done with, just 40,000 + pages to go. With this in mind I have put a little side challenge for this month, to reach 20,000 pages by my 34th birthday, which is June 6.

For now I’m going to focus on finishing A Storm of Swords and Before Watchmen Volume 3.

In the novel front I have been making little advances, it’s a really dense read, with an ever growing cast of characters and locations, I’m taking my sweet time reading it, as I said is like a fine wine, little sips.

In the graphic novel I’m at the part of the crimson corsair but i haven’t read it that much.

My focus is to finish A Storm of Swords by my birthday, another side challenge like the one above, and starting june until the end of the year I’m going to read as much of the Expanded Universe Star Wars Novels as I can, I don’t care about what is canon or not.

This as preparation for december 18 and the premiere of Episode VII The Force Awakens.

A quick recap :

  • Total pages for seventh year : 10,324 pages
  • Days left for the seventh year: 161 days
  • Pages left to read in my goal for the seventh year: 45,611

Those are the plans, a lot of sleepless night ahead of me.

Happy Readings
