Final numbers of “Seven of reading “

What an amazing week of reading.

I was on a reading slump , this week was a much needed jolt of energy to move forward with the rest of this year.

Concerning the 21 tasks that comprised the week , I am glad to inform that 20 were completed, leaving only read 6 hours in one day, it was part of the last day , and honestly I only completed half of it.

The greatest thing was to finish the seventh book of The Malazan Book of the Fallen, Reaper’s Gale, I have been working on it for a while as the threat of The Crippled God gets closer to blow everything away.

The other task from the last day was to start a new book, I did not only that but also started a new series from critically acclaimed author Robin Hobb.

But the most important thing was the sheer amount of total pages, 2,577, this over 1 book, 4 comic books, and 13 graphic novels.

I’ll try keep this pace up to close this bizarre year with a bang.

For now, I am off to read.

Last day of “Seven days of reading “

Yesterday was probably the most successful day of the whole week.

I completed the three tasks of the day, and to top it off the whole left from friday, read 200 pages from one book, which I believed to be one of the hardest to achieve, alongside read for 6 hours, which is part of today’s challenge.

So, 18 out of 18 ,and one more day to go.

  1. Read 50 pages outside
  2. Read 2 printed graphic novels
  3. Read 3 single issue comic books
  4. Read 300 total pages
  5. Read 1 digital graphic novel
  6. Read 2 digital graphic novels
  7. Read 50 pages in bed
  8. Read for 2 hours
  9. Read 300 total pages
  10. Read 100 pages on 1 room
  11. Read 50 pages while drinking red wine
  12. Read 300 total pages
  13. Read 50 pages while drinking coffee

  15. Read 200 pages from one book
  16. Read 2 printed graphic novels
  17. Read for 4 hours
  18. Read 500 total pages

Now let’s talk about yesterday’s challenge, for the two printed graphic novels I choose from a fairly new ground to me, Manga, right now I am trying to complete Kentaro Miura’s Berserk, the Spanish language edition, which are about 30 numbers, and I have 8 of them.

I read numbers 2 and 3, in which Guts, the knight with the gargantuan sword, fights forces from another plain, and some of his mysterious pass unravels, so far I am loving it, but fair warning, it’s not for the faint of heart.

Thanks this two great volumes, and a whole lot of reading from Reaper’s Gale, I could complete the other two tasks, read for 4 hours ,and read 500 total pages.

For today the wheel has in store the three remaining tasks.

  1. Read for 6 hours
  2. Finish the current book (about 42 pages left)
  3. Start a new book ( Robin Hobb’s Assassin series)

The day is set, and the perfect way to finish this very successful week.

For now, I am off to read

Another great day of reading under my belt, yesterday I completed 2 out of the 3 tasks.

The one left for today was reading 200 pages from one book, right now I am about halfway there.

  2. Read 2 printed graphic novels
  3. Read 3 single issue comic books
  4. Read 300 total pages

In between the day long reading session of Reaper’s Gale I managed to squeeze in a couple of graphic novels.

The newest stop on the crime fighting tour of Hit-Girl, Hong Kong, this time around she faces a foe hidden in the shadows, who might prove to much for this killing machine.

The second one is the first volume of the short lived Star Wars series, Agent of the Empire, it follows the adventures of Imperial spy Jahan Cross.

  2. Read 2 printed graphic novels
  3. Read 3 single issue comic books

  9. Read 300 total pages

For the first and second task, read 100 pages on 1 room, and read 50 pages while drinking red wine, I opted to stay in bed while dinner was cooking on the oven.

And to get me over the 300 total pages, which again I barely got there with 304 pages, there were two amazing graphic novel.

Starting with th DC universe villains wrecking havoc all over the multiverse in Year of the Villain : Hell Arisen, we got to see Perpetua and The Batman who Laughs facing off.

The second graphic novel was Frank Miller’s futuristic noir story, Hardboiled, which follows an insurance adjuster, and along the ride are to legends in their own accord illustrator Geof Darrow, and colorist Dave Stewart, a gorey sci-fi ride with amazing detailed art.

Now let’s see what the wheel has in store for me.

  1. Read 50 pages while drinking coffee (better known as every single day)
  2. Read 50 pages after midnight (here is where the coffee comes in handy)
  3. Read 200 pages from one book

Fourth day of “Seven Days of Reading”

At the halfway point of my week of reading, and i can stanley say that it has been a great success.

I finished all three tasks from yesterday , and that gives me 9 of 9.

  1. Read 50 pages outside
  2. Read 2 printed graphic novels
  3. Read 3 single issue comic books
  4. Read 300 total pages
  5. Read 1 digital graphic novel
  6. Read 2 digital graphic novels
  7. Read 50 pages in bed
  8. Read for 2 hours
  9. Read 300 total pages

The task of reading 50 pages in bed was the most challenging, for I am really hyperactive, and can seem to stay in one place.

The task of reading 2 hours was fairly easy , and the last, read 300 total pages, I just made it with a total of 301 pages.

I read about 52 pages of Reaper’s Gale, getting close to finishing, currently on page 726 of 1003.

Also, I read Tom Taylor’s Dceased, a great way tho incorporate Dark Seid’s Anti-Life equation and Zombies, it was a trill ride.

Lastly, I read the first issue of Green Lantern’s miniseries Black Stars, still in the helm the amazing Grant Morrison , who never disappoints.

Now let’s see what the wheel has in store for me today.

  1. Read 100 pages on 1 room
  2. Read 50 pages while drinking red wine ( oh no, the sacrifice!)
  3. Read 300 total pages

Third day of “Seven days of reading “

Another successful day of reading, I completed all three tasks from yesterday, and also the one left hanging from the first day.

Yesterday’s reading was mainly of one of my favorite characters, Red Sonja, the She-Devil with a Sword.

On the fifth volume of Queen Sonja we see her rise from Queen to Empress as she faces a familiar foe with a devilish hand.

On Red Sonja : Wrath of the Gods and Revenge of the Gods, she faces the norse pantheon as Loki the trickster tries to conquer several nations and bring forth Ragnarok.

The third task was to read 300 pages, my total for the day was a whopping 424 pages, and it shapes up to be an amazing end of the year readathon.

Now let’s see what the wheel has in store for me today.

  1. Read 50 pages in bed
  2. Read for 2 hours
  3. Read 300 total pages

Second day of “Seven Days of Reading”

A great start to my seven days of reading, I completed two tasks, and the third one, read 50 pages outside, is well underway, I have only today to finish it, as the “rules” stated on my last post

  1. Read 50 pages outside
  2. Read 2 printed graphic novels
  3. Read 3 single issue comic books

For the other two task, I read the second volume of Gerard Way run on Doom Patrol, he is a really underrated writer, it’s really an amazing work, the other graphic novel was Batman/Superman: Year of the Villain, the multiverse is still under the onslaught of The Batman who Laughs.

Also, three issues, from 2 to 4, of the Dark Horse comics series, Cryptocracy, the tale of the 9 families who form the world’s secret government, and their struggles with the supernatural.

For today the wheel has spoken, and my next three tasks are.

  1. Read 300 total pages
  2. Read 1 digital graphic novel
  3. Read 2 digital graphic novels

A fairly easy day, the most challenging task will be to read outside, but with the cool winter breeze and the warming sun it will also be a delight.

For now, I am off to read.
