(Y-12) Deus Brânquia and back to Genabackis

Hope everyone is safe and healthy.

It has been a really slow week, at least for my reading, because I have been crazy busy.

So let me just jump into what have I been reading, and some of my numbers.

I have 26,871 of total pages for this year, that’s 3,129 to reach my next goal, and 14,794 pages to reach my ultimate goal for the year,  41,665 pages of total reading.

The other number I would like to point out is that I have finished 16 books in this year of reading, still have another 33 to reach my total of 49 books, which, is a recurrent goal for each and every year.

The last thing concerning my numbers is that I am 34 days ahead of my reading schedule, and if this pace holds out, this would be my best year of reading.

Now back to what I am reading.

Just finished the novelization of the academy award-winning movie, The Shape of Water, and I must say that I loved the movie and the book just takes it up a notch, the characters, especially the Amazonian Deity, are more rounded, and you can peak into their motivations and fears.

I highly recommend it.

Right now, I will start reading the fifth book of the Malazan Book of Fallen, Midnight Tides, it is a whopper of a book in a whopper of a series.

Midnight Tides

Also, I’ll start to read a comic book series of one of the newest additions to the Star Wars universe, Captain Phasma, in which, we follow her footsteps just as the menacing Star-Killer base is falling to pieces.

Stay healthy.

For now, I am off to read.

The final day of Bookly’s #StayAtHomeReadathon

I hope everyone is safe and healthy.

Today is the final day of the week-long readathon using the amazing Bookly reading app.

As I stated in my last post, the objective was to read 25 hours between April 13 and April 19, as I enter the final day of reading my task still has a little under 8 hours to go.

Yesterday was a really good day of reading, 441 total pages, and I finished a couple of classic DC Comics storylines, Zero Hour and Flashpoint.

And today I’ll continue my adventure thru the DC Comics Multiverse, now it is the time for Batman/Flash: The Button, and Doomsday Clock.

Also, I finished Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, and I have to say that it blew me away, I didn’t think it was going to be so good, it was such the case that I read it in one day.

Now I’ll focus on Guillermo del Toro’s novelization of The Shape of Water.

Stay safe.

Stay healthy.

For now, I am off to read.

(Y-12) Third day of the Bookly #stayathomereadathon and the revisiting of some old friends

Hope everyone is keeping safe and healthy.

I am participating on the Bookly latest readathon, a pretty good way to pass this hard times, a bit of light in all of this darkness.

The main goal is to read 25 hours between April 13 to April 19.

So far I have read

Monday 2 hours and 42 minutes

Tuesday 1 hour and 27 minutes

And today, so far, I have read 1 hour and 24 minutes.

That gives me a total of 5 hours and 33 minutes.

Not bad.

Hopefully, I’ll finish the day over 7 hours.

Now for the important part, what I am reading.

I am about to finish The Night of the Hunter, the 25th book of the Legend of Drizzt saga, it’s always a pleasure be back at Faerûn.

I will start the next volume, Rise of the King, this alongside the novelization of the Academy award winning movie The Shape of Water, directed by the amazing Guillermo del Toro.

In the comic book/graphic novel front, I’ll be revisiting some classic DC comics storylines, Zero Hour and Flashpoint.

This as a prelude to read to some events that I haven’t got around to see, The Button and Doomsday Clock.

I have a lot of great material ahead, and a great challenge to tackle.

For now, I am off to read.

Keep safe and healthy.
